You can set up your alerts.
With Optus Corporate Usage Alerts you now have access to a customised data usage alert solution to notify your Billing Account managers and individual mobile end users that they have exceeded a usage threshold when using mobile data within Australia on the Optus Mobile network.
The Optus Corporate Usage Alerts solution provides mobile data usage based alerting at the following levels:
- Billing Account Summary: An alert summary of all mobile services that have exceeded a data usage threshold for the billing account within the last 24 hours.
- Billing Account Data Aggregation: An alert summary when an aggregated mobile data bucket (Shared Data Plan or Mobile Data Fleet) billing account threshold has been exceeded and / or mobile services on the billing account have exceeded a usage threshold within the last 24 hours.
- Mobile Service Level: An SMS or email usage alert when a mobile service exceeds a predefined domestic data usage threshold.

- Receive usage alerts for Billing Accounts including aggregated data buckets (Mobile Data Fleet and Shared Data Plan) and mobile end users via a single solution.
- A custom built Administrator Portal allowing you to set the usage alert preferences the way you want to be alerted.
- Ability to define as many data usage percentage thresholds from 50 – 125% as you like.
- End user alerts can be customised to be delivered via SMS (to the mobile service or another Optus Mobile service) or via email.
- Define your own company contact details for alerts to Billing Account managers and mobile end users.
- Available at no cost for all Optus Business Corporate customers with mobile services on eligible mobile data enabled rate plans.

Technical
The Optus Corporate Usage Alerts solution enables you the ability to monitor your mobile data usage within Australia via Billing Account and individual Mobile service level usage alerts.
To facilitate this service an Administrator Portal is provided allowing you to manage your alert thresholds at the Corporate Fleet, Billing Account or Mobile service level to suit your mobile fleet’s needs. You must be a registered user to access this service.
Usage alerts are sent to Billing Account managers via email and mobile end users alerts are sent as either a SMS or email when a nominated usage percentage threshold has been exceeded.
The alerting solution consists of:
- The usage alerting engine, which monitors mobile data usage and generates the usage alerts.
- The Administration Portal (accessed via selecting Corporate Usage Alerts from the Login To Others Services list on the My Business Portal site), which allows you to set and manage your Optus Corporate Usage Alert preferences.
Billing Account and Mobile service level usage alerts are only available for mobile data usage generated within Australia on the Optus mobile network and may be delayed by up to 48 hours.Compatible Mobile Plans / Usage Types
Mobile services and Billing Accounts on the following products for Mobile Data used within Australia are supported by the Optus Corporate Usage Alerts service:
- Standalone Mobile and Optus Mobile Broadband Plans
- Mobile Data Fleet Plans (MDF)
- Shared Data Plans (SDP)
Excluded Mobile Plans / Usage Types
Mobile services on the following products or usage types are excluded from the Optus Corporate Usage Alerts service:
- Data used while roaming overseas
- Telemetry or Machine to Machine (M2M) / Jasper Wireless services
- Service with Mobile Data Plans with less than 300MB of data allowance
- Pay as you go mobile data rate plans (PAYG)
- Mobile services enabled with Data Bolt on’s
- Personal Liability Accounts (already enabled with usage alerts)
- Non-data enabled services / offers (e.g. SMS Gateway, Email to SMS, services without data rate plans enabled)
- Optus Thuraya Satellite mobile services
- BlackBerry Enterprise Service rate plans
- Mobile Circuit Switched Data (CSD) enabled mobile services
- Ethernet Over Wireless enabled mobile services

- WHY AM I NOT RECEIVING USAGE ALERTS WHILE ROAMING OVERSEAS?
Currently the Optus Corporate Usage Alerts solution will only alert on mobile data used within Australia, support for mobile data usage while roaming is planned in a future release.
- HOW ARE USAGE ALERTS DELIVERED?
Usage alerts are sent to Billing Account managers via email and mobile end users alerts are send as either a SMS or email when a nominated usage percentage threshold has been exceeded.
- CAN I CUSTOMISE THE USAGE ALERT THRESHOLDS?
Yes, the Administrator Portal provides you the ability to define as many data usage percentage thresholds from 50 – 125% as you like at the Corporate Mobile fleet, Billing Account or individual mobile service level.
- HOW CAN I HAVE MY OPTUS MOBILE FLEET ENABLED FOR OPTUS CORPORATE USAGE ALERTS?

- IS THERE A COST TO BE ENABLED FOR OPTUS CORPORATE USAGE ALERTS?
No, there is no cost to be enabled for the Optus Corporate Usage Alert service.
- I HAVE BEEN ENABLED FOR OPTUS CORPORATE USAGE ALERTS BUT I'M NOT RECEIVING ANY ALERTS?
Once a mobile fleet has been activated for the Optus Corporate Usage Alert service the nominated Administrator must log into The Administration Portal (accessed via selecting Corporate Usage Alerts from the Login To Others Services list on the My Business Portal site), which allows you to set and manage your Optus Corporate Usage Alert preferences.
- CAN I DISABLE USAGE ALERTS FOR A CERTAIN INDIVIDUAL MOBILE SERVICE OR ENTIRE BILLING ACCOUNT?
Yes, the Optus Corporate Usage Alert serive is fully customisable providing the ability to disable usage alerts across the entire corporate mobile fleet, particular billing accounts or even certain individual mobile services.
- A PARTICULAR MOBILE SERVICE IS NOT DISPLAYED IN THE ADMIN PORTAL?
In order for a mobile service to be visable in the Administrator Portal it must be on an eligible mobile rate plan. Please refer to the Technical section for further details on eligible mobile rate plans and usage types.
- WHAT MOBILE SERVICES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR OPTUS CORPORATE USAGE ALERTING?
Certain mobile rate plans and usage types are currently excluded from the Optus Corporate Usage Alert service. Please refer to the Technical section for further details on eligible mobile rate plans and usage types.
- A PARTICULAR BILLING ACCOUNT IS NOT DISPLAYED IN THE ADMINISTRATOR PORTAL?
In order for a Billing Account is be visible in the Administrator Portal it must be associated with your corporate mobile fleet and it must contain at least 1 mobile service that is eligible for the Optus Corporate Usage Alert service.
- CAN I SETUP OTHER USERS FOR ACCESS TO THE ADMINISTRATOR PORTAL?
Yes, additional administrators can be setup and enabled for access to the Administrator Portal via the Administrator Portal, please refer to the Administrator Guide for further details.
