Travelling to Optus – with the new Sydney Metro
27 May 2019, 10:00 AM

By Optus Careers
With the opening of the Sydney Metro, Australia’s largest public transport project, travelling to our Optus Macquarie Park headquarters has just become a whole lot easier.
The first stage of the Sydney Metro (now open) travels from Tallawong Station (past Rouse Hill in Sydney’s North West) to Chatswood via Macquarie Park.
So, if you’re visiting us for a meeting or attending an interview, check out the options below on how to get here.
Transport options
Sydney Metro/Train
Trains are a very convenient and easy way to travel to Macquarie Park. If you’re coming via Chatswood, you’ll need to interchange to the Metro line for services to Macquarie Park. The Metro is a turn up and go service running every 4 mins during peak times, and every 10 mins off peak.
The next stage of the Sydney Metro project will see the North West line extend to the city via the North Shore; however, we have a few years to wait for that one.
Bus
Bus services are another easy way to visit Macquarie Park. To plan your journey, visit transportnsw.info.
There are also a variety of other journey planning apps that can assist in your journey by providing information on congestion times and live traffic updates. Check out TripGo, TripView, Live Traffic or your other preferred apps, and keep an eye on the roads before you travel.
Optus Express Bus
If you’re arriving before 10:00am, speak to your Optus host about catching one of our Optus Express buses from Epping or Wynyard. You can also catch an Optus Express bus from 3:00pm if you’re heading back to any of these locations.
Please note that there is a charge for Wynyard and Epping afternoon services. You’ll also need to show the driver confirmation of your visit from your Optus host.
Keoride
As part of the NSW Government’s On Demand Public Transport Pilot Program and the Future Transport Strategy, Keoride is providing transport services to people living within their service zone wanting to travel to the Macquarie Park precinct.
The Keoride app matches customers who are travelling in the same direction and calculates an optimised flexible route to pick up and drop off customers close to their destination. You can even track the vehicle and be provided with ETA updates in real time. We have a drop off/pick up point on Campus, so you can sit back and enjoy the ride. Download their app and book a bus to your door (or close to it).
Check out the service map below to locate a service near you:

Drive
While we recommend our visitors use other modes of transport to get to Macquarie Park, we do have a visitor’s car park for short visits. Parking in our visitor’s car park will need host approval, and your ticket will need to be validated before exiting the car park. There’s also paid parking on the streets surrounding our campus.
Uber or Taxi
Public taxi ranks can be located outside our main reception building (Building F). If you prefer taking an Uber, ask them to drop you off at the 10-minute zone on Optus Drive.
How do our employees get here?
At Optus, we encourage our people to travel by sustainable modes of transport like cycling, walking, public transport and/or ride sharing. We also have direct Optus Express bus services from Wynyard and Epping, and there’s car parking available on Campus for those who need to drive.
We encourage our people to work flexibly and ‘shift the peak’ to avoid the congestion by coming in earlier or starting a little later.
While many of our Optus people take up our Flexible Work Arrangements, our Campus is always a vibrant place for people and their guests to connect and enjoy great coffee options, onsite bars and a variety of food outlets.
With the Metro opening and other planned improvements to the area, Macquarie Park will continue to grow as a premium destination to work, live and play.
