What’s your business called and what does it do?
Our business is called Aquacell. We reduce water consumption by removing the waste from wastewater to produce high purity recycled water. It is then used for non-drinking purposes; flushing toilets, irrigating landscapes, industrial cooling processes etc. We design, build and operate these systems for communities, private and public clients.
How long did it take you to make the decision to launch, and when did you?
Aquacell was started in 1996. The decision to launch spanned approximately two years.
What’s the hardest part of being a business owner?
...A tough question to answer. Staying proactive in a rapidly changing world, rather than reacting to it. And that the lights never go off.
The best part?
Giving infinite life to a finite and invaluable resource, water, through delivering innovative water recycling technology for private and public entities across the world.
What’s surprised you along the way?
The power of passionate people to achieve amazing things.
The achievement you’re most proud of?
As an Australian company that started from nothing, exporting our technology to the world's largest and most forward-thinking organisations.
Go-to mantra?
Why lose it when you can re-use it?
Where to next?
We expanded into the USA over 10 years ago. We are now expanding into the U.K. and Europe.
