Black Friday tech deals are almost here. The sales event is one of the largest of the year, with all kinds of discounts across a wide range of gadgets, devices and more. Optus often takes part in Black Friday deals, but you’ll have to wait and see what we have in store for 2026.

What is Black Friday?

Black Friday is a huge sales event that takes place all over the world. It typically rings in the Christmas holiday season and, owing to its US origins, takes place the day immediately after Thanksgiving – though these days, Black Friday spans a much longer period of time, with retailers often offering deals across a wide sales period spanning days or weeks.

When are Black Friday sales in Australia?

Black Friday will take place in Australia on Friday November 27, 2026. Sales and deals will likely span days or weeks in the leadup to and a bit after Black Friday. We’re expecting many retailers to jump aboard Black Friday from about mid-November, and ride the sales season through to early December.

Is Optus having a Black Friday sale?

Optus has taken part in Black Friday deals in the past, but we’re remaining tight-lipped about the deals this year. Check back later.

When does Black Friday end?

Black Friday really only lasts, well, a Friday, but typically spans the weekend up until Cyber Monday at the start of the next week. The sales period we call Black Friday typically spans weeks depending on the retailer and the deals on offer.
