Optus is proud to partner with the NBL and the WNBL to help bring Australians close to the sport they love and the moments that matter.

It’s an exciting partnership – the basketball scene in Australia is growing at an exciting rate, and we’re enthusiastic about backing the things that Australians love.

Working with the NBL and WNBL, Optus will help elevate the sport by enhancing the fan experience, strengthening community engagement, and enabling new ways of supporting the game.

“Basketball has become one of the most exciting and culturally relevant sports in Australia, with incredible momentum at both a community and professional level,” Optus Chief Executive Officer Stephen Rue said.

“The NBL and WNBL represents what the future of Australian sport looks like – inclusive, fast-growing, community-driven and deeply connected to its fans.”

Optus will focus on enabling how fans connect with the sport, supporting how people engage with it from courtside, to streaming and TV, and to online spaces. The partnership demonstrates our commitment to providing the best possible experience to Australians and by championing the things Aussies know and love.

This partnership brings together two organisations that are dedicated to innovation, inclusion, and putting people first. We’re keen on getting more Aussies involved in the awesome sport, on court and beyond.

Because it’s not just about what happens in the stadiums. Basketball lives in the homes, in neighbourhoods and online. Basketball brings people together in a way that only sport can, and we’re thrilled to help the NBL and WNBL reach new heights in Australia.

So whether you’re a Sydney Kings superfan, a Townsville Fire diehard, an Adelaide 36ers devotee, a Perth Lynx supporter, or just now getting into the Southside Melbourne Flyers, Optus is keen to lift up the sport that you know and love.

We can’t wait for the WNBL and NBL to return for the 2026-2027 season in September. We’ll be there and we’re excited for you to be as well. Check out the full NBL schedule here.
