Optus 5G+ covering more of Australia than our standard 5G

Optus 5G+¹ is expanding the reach of our 5G network, delivering up to five times more Optus 5G coverage than our standard 5G, to keep our customers better connected².

As part of Optus’ broader strategy to expand connectivity, Optus 5G+ is playing an important role in enhancing our network coverage across Australia.

Further increases in Optus 5G+ coverage are possible following the 3G network switch off. The spectrum previously committed to operating 3G will be applied to Optus 5G+ to assist in increasing our 5G footprint around the country.

The best news is that Optus customers with a compatible plan, phone and SIM can experience the benefits of Optus 5G+ today³.

Our ongoing 5G mobile network rollout features Optus 5G+, a standalone network infrastructure that provides broader coverage and greater capacity compared to our standard 5G. Built to enhance our 5G coverage footprint, Optus 5G+  operates independently of 4G, and offers a better mobile experience in more places across Australia – extending connectivity into areas previously underserved by our 5G network. Customers with a compatible plan, phone and SIM can access up to five times more coverage with Optus 5G+ than our standard 5G, ensuring they can work, play, and stay connected with 5G in more places.
