Modem user guides for Home & Office Internet

In this article, we'll cover how to get the most out of your internet connection including everything you need to know about modems that are approved for use on the Optus network.

For the best experience, we recommend using an Optus-supplied modem. This ensures you can take full advantage of all the great features our network has to offer.

If you choose to use your own modem, we'll do our best to assist you, but some features may not work as expected, and technical support may be limited. If you need to manually configure your device, you can find the necessary settings-like IP addresses, email, and technical details-here: IP addresses, email, technical settings & ports for Home, Mobile & Office Internet.

Note: Step-by-step instructions to set up your nbn® or 5G modem are also available in My Optus app.

Optus is required by law to confirm your NBN service is working. However, we may be unable to do this if you don't use the Optus-supplied modem. If you experience issues with your nbn service, contact us for assistance.

For guidance setting up a modem that was not supplied by Optus, see setting up your BYO modem for help.

Below is a list of Optus-supplied nbn modems. Click to download the quick start guide or view the device guide (if available).

Note. Check your order confirmation and SMS to confirm your technology type.
