Update your personal details

You can update the following personal details via My Optus app or My Account, using the instructions in this article:

  • Contact phone number
  • Email address
  • Postal address
  • My Account password


You can also find instructions for updating your name if you've legally changed it.

If there's an error in the spelling of your name or date of birth on your account, please contact us to have it corrected

It's important you keep your details up to date, so that we can contact you about your service. Where required, we may also supply some of this information to the Integrated Public Number Database (IPND). Information in the IPND is used to assist emergency service organisations.

  • To change the phone number, email address, or postal address by which you receive your Optus bill, see Switch paper bills on or off
  1. Open My Optus app
  2. If you're not already logged in, you will be prompted to enter your My Account login email and password
  3. Click Account from the bottom menu
  4. Click My contact details
  5. Click the arrow against the detail you wish to update
  6. Enter your new details and click Save

  1. Log in to My Account
  2. Select Profile & Settings from the top menu
  3. Select My Profile
  4. Click Edit next to the detail you wish to update
  5. Enter your new details and click Update

If you've officially changed your name, you can get it updated on your Optus account by filling out the Change of Account Name form and returning it to us:
