Check your Prepaid Mobile Broadband balance & expiry date

This article covers how to check your Prepaid Mobile Broadband credit, balance and expiry date.

We also have steps to check your Prepaid Mobile phone balance and expiry.

  1. Open My Optus app
  2. Select Service from the bottom menu
  3. Here you'll see your remaining data balance and credit expiry date

Linking your Prepaid Mobile Broadband service to My Optus app

  1. Open My Optus app
  2. Tap on Login
  3. Continue with either your Optus mobile number or your Optus My Account, or tap on Optus My Account
  4. Tap No account? Register

Tip! Enable the My Optus app widget to gain quick access to your Prepaid Mobile Broadband balance and expiry date from your phone's home / lock screen.

You can view your balance and expiry date in My Account.

Haven't registered for My Account? Register for My Account now. Once logged in, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to My Account
  2. From your Dashboard, select your Prepaid Mobile Broadband service number
  3. Here, you'll see your service summary which includes your remaining data balance and credit expiry date

Tip! If you can't see your Prepaid Mobile Broadband service number, you may need to manually link the service to your My Account profile.

Using an android device

Simply use the Messages app to SMS the word MENU to 9999.

Using a broadband dongle / USB modem or WiFi hotspot

You can send and receive SMS via the device's online dashboard or admin console.

Your device's instructions should have details on how to access this. Most devices will use one of the following IP addresses to access it:

  • 192.168.0.1
  • 192.168.1.1
  • 192.168.8.1

The username is usually 'admin' and the password if you've never logged in before is also usually 'admin' (check your user guide or device for more info).

Once logged in, navigate to the SMS tab or Inbox. Here you'll see any SMS' received and can also send an SMS to 9999 for your balance, plus many other self-service options.

Messages to 9999 are free and can be sent when you're out of credit.
